While Swiss law does not require or specifiy any mandatory right of withdrawal and return of goods, Rare Swan in good faith and in the interests of fair trade and quality practices, offers both the option of withdrawl and return of goods under specific conditions and does so, in voluntary compliance with the ethical code stipulated by the Swiss Mail Order Association (VSV) and the Trusted Shops quality seal.
Some Rare Swan titles are listed on the German based VLB – Verzeichnis Liefbarer Bucher offered by MVB Marketing – Und Verlagsservice des Buchhandels GmbH ( Index of Deliverable Books ) Braubachstrasse 16, 60311 Frankfurt am Mein. As of 2016, a new VAT directive is set in place for Germany-based purchases. New EU rules for e-commerce
On 23 June 2011, a new directive was passed by the European Parliament facilitate cross-border online trade by aligning different national provisions. The final version of that directive is found in the Official Journal of the European Union published on November 22nd, 2011: The full text of the directive is available here. Ratifications within the context of national laws had to be completed and binding by December 13, 2013 and applied no later than June 13th, 2014.

Rare Swan is a provider of editorial and publishing services and goods – specifically falling into the books and magazines categories. Other merchandising or showcasing business generated through the Rare Swan website is subject to project / merchandise specific and independent agreement to this state of General Terms and Conditions. Once an order is placed and has been confirmed, any cancellation or return of goods must be at the cost of customer. Customers using this website abide and agree to the stipulated general terms and conditions. Customers undertake to supply true and correct details to enable the fulfilment of the contract. Rare Swan is only liable for verifiable direct damage or in the singular instance of proof by a customer, of gross negligence either by action or intent by one of its The Publisher’s employees or personnel of assigned third party partners. In each case the liability is limited to the sum of the product in question.
Pricing & Costs
Retail price listings are quoted in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include VAT. Where pricing rates are in Euro and exclude VAT, these are specified. Currency exchange rates are listed and fluctuate in accordance to real time rates. Additional costs might apply subject to your local regulations, value and or weight of shipments. Costs incurred for customs clearance (for whatever reason) of a country of destination for any product ordered and purchased through this website, remains the sole responsibility of the customer. In the event of additional freight, delivery or shipment costs or / and all other costs, if applicable, such as an unlimited agreement or a subscription agreement, the total price includes the total incurred costs.
Orders and Shipments.
Each order confirmation and shipment dispatch is regarded as contractual fulfillment on the part of the publisher and its distribution partners. All orders subject to availability and shipped at client’s own risk. Each order is shipped with care to packaging to protect the product from transit damage and is not liable for loss or damage due to third party negligence.
Standard Delivery Time
Switzerland & Germany: 2–6 working days.
Europe: 10–15 working days
Rest of the World: 15–25 working days.
Rare Swan is not liable for any late delivery by its distribution partners.
PayPal. This site operates SSL encryption to safeguard customer privacy. Payment service terms, are bound to the payment service agreements.
The customer must bear the costs for the return in the event of withdrawal from the payment order and the goods have to be returned unopened and in original condition.
Cancelled orders and/ or delivered goods are returnable within 14 days of receipt at customer’s sole cost and risk.
Each return MUST include a copy of the order confirmation.
Returns must be sent to dispatcher as specified on the address or delivery note.
Unreceived or refused deliveries.
Costs incurred to the Publisher in the event of declined delivery or refused receipt or failure to collect, at any place of destination can deducted from due reimbursement and/or charged to the customer.
