Chris Gregory

Director : Sound Technician : Producer.

Chris Gregory is a writer, musician and audio technician from the UK. An “adequate” guitarist, struggling mandolinist and self-confessed “Thesaurus-Hugger”, Chris still feels capable of playing cricket for England and topping the UK album charts in the face of overwhelming evidence that neither is going to happen.

Simon Holloway

Editor, Lecturer, Author

Dr. Simon Holloway is, in no particular order, a novelist, short story writer, poet, critic and academic. His latest novel, The Words We Use are Black and White, is the first to be published under his own name, and is described by the international language expert Prof. David Crystal as ‘compelling…a world steeped in images of language.’ His poetry has been published in places such as The Rialto, The North, Staple, The Frogmore Papers, Envoi and Iota, and his short fiction in places such as The North American Review, Litro, Mechanics Institute Review, Stand, New Writing: The International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing, and TEXT. He even had a short play performed at a festival. For 13 number of years he has taught fiction writing in UK Universities, most recently at the University of Bolton, where he founded and is the executive editor of The Bolton Review, and where for two years he was programme leader in Creative Writing. He co-organised Great Writing: The International Creative Writing Conference for over ten years, and developed and led a series of writing workshops for the Mental Health Charity MIND in North Wales. His critical research into creative writing theory and process has been published around the world, and he is regarded as a world leader in process theory: that is, the minutiae of creative decision making and the theoretical and practical reasons behind even the smallest of creative actions. His teaching philosophy is rooted in praxis, and as such he focuses on supporting learners from all backgrounds to find their own creative pathways to success. His specialism is supervising doctoral candidates, especially those returning to education or from disadvantaged backgrounds, to the extent that he was invited to co-author the UK Creative Writing Research Benchmark Statement.
